Rebuilding a multi-door access system damaged by severe electrical surge
A lightning strike caused major system failure at a large condominium, knocking out access control to more than fourteen doors throughout the property. Kings ACS was brought in to restore functionality, replace damaged equipment, and protect the community from future electrical surges. The goal was to rebuild a safe, reliable system that could withstand Florida’s harsh weather conditions.

our process
The lightning strike caused multiple access points to fail at once, so Kings ACS began with a full diagnostic to identify which components were damaged. Seven control panels were replaced, along with several card readers and maglocks that had been compromised by the electrical surge.
Our technicians pulled new wires throughout the clubhouse and surrounding areas to ensure a clean, stable signal across all doors. We also installed surge protection on every access control device to prevent future lightning-related failures. A new access control setup was added for the community restrooms, including updated readers, wiring, and secure hardware.
Once all components were installed, the team programmed and tested each door to guarantee proper function, reliability, and safety.
